1. Play the main storyline until you reach New Vegas and get to Mr. If you exit the house, you'll get approached by an NCR soldier. He'll send you to the embassy, where the NCR storyline begins.
2. The ncr will keep warring, independent vegas is bad overall and will crumble eventually when some big force finally comes to take over, legion is just lulz.

* Assume a High Good Karma Courier in both cases.
* Assume the Courier did a near 'perfect' ending for his factions.
* Assume the Courier did as many Pro-Humanitarian decisions as possible. So, Yes Man Courier probably helped the NCR tremendously before deciding they were not right for the Mojave.
* Assume Yes Man is actually just what he appears to be, a reprogrammed servile robot whose new assertiveness will just make it more loyal.
